Am I eligible for a COVID vaccine?

70 and over

• Primary Schedule: Two doses with interval of 4 weeks between doses
• 1^st Booster Dose Interval: Four Months
• 2023 Recommendations: Booster dose in Spring and Booster Dose in Autumn irrespective of number of pervious booster doses. An interval of 6 months is recommended between each dose.

50-69 years

• Primary Schedule: Two doses with interval of 4 weeks between doses
• 1^st Booster Dose Interval: Four months
• 2023 Recommendations: Booster is recommended in Spring for those living in long term care facilities and those who are immunocompromised associated with a suboptimal response to vaccination. An interval of 6 months is recommended between each dose.
• A booster vaccine will be recommended for all in autumn.

18-49 years

• Primary Schedule: Two doses with interval of 4 weeks between doses
• 1^st Booster Dose Interval: Four months
• 2023 Recommendations: For those age 18-49 who have availed of 2nd booster dose additional booster vaccines are not routinely recommended. A booster dose in both Spring and August is recommended for those who are immunocompromised associated with a suboptimal response to vaccination. An interval of 9 months is recommended between each dose.
• A booster vaccine will be recommended in autumn for those with medical conditions associated with a higher risk of COVID infection.

12-17 years

• Primary Schedule: Two doses with interval of 4 weeks between doses
• 1^st Booster Dose Interval: Four months
• 2023 Recommendations: For those age 18-49 who have availed of 2nd booster dose additional booster vaccines are not routinely recommended. A booster dose in both Spring and August is recommended for those who are immunocompromised associated with a suboptimal response to vaccination. • Booster Only: Spikevax Bivalent 50mcg Vaccine

For those between 18-49

• Primary and Booster: Comirnaty (Pfizer) Vaccine

How soon will I be protected against Covid?

• The Covid vaccine starts to work within 2 weeks. Please note that you may still contract this virus despite being vaccinated however your symptoms are likely to be mild
