Q1: What is the McCabes PLUS Loyalty Programme?
McCabes PLUS is the newly launched loyalty programme by McCabes Pharmacy that rewards members with access to exclusive promotions, personalised coupons, and the opportunity to earn and redeem points for rewards.
Q2: What are the benefits of joining?
Membership benefits include:
· PLUS points on eligible in-store purchases (scan your My Card QR at checkout). Exchange your PLUS points for rewards including money off vouchers and product discounts (activate rewards in-app prior to purchase). PLUS points are not eligible on baby food, select OTC products and prescriptions.
· Access to exclusive PLUS offers (discounts applied upon scanning)
· Personalised PLUS coupons (activate in-app prior to purchase)
· Digital receipts all in one place so you have access to purchase history
· MY Health services including prescription notifications and appointment bookings
Q3: Who can join?
The McCabes PLUS loyalty programme is in pilot phase so it’s not available online and is only available within the following Limerick and Clare McCabes Pharmacy stores: Castletroy Shopping Centre, Crescent Shopping Centre, Jetland Shopping Centre, Parkway Shopping Centre, Roxboro Shopping Centre, Thomondgate, Grove Island, Charlottes Quay and Skycourt Shopping Centre. It is available to customers aged 18 and above. During the pilot phase, registration is supported for phone numbers from Ireland, the UK, Germany, and Spain.
Q4: Does it cost anything to sign up?
No, it is free of charge
Q5: Where is the programme available?
During the pilot phase, the programme is only available at select McCabes Pharmacy stores in Limerick and Clare, including Castletroy Shopping Centre, Crescent Shopping Centre, Jetland Shopping Centre, Parkway Shopping Centre, Roxboro Shopping Centre, Thomondgate, Grove Island, Charlottes Quay and Skycourt Shopping Centre.
The programme is currently not available online but we are exploring this for the near future.
2. Getting Started
Q6: How do I download the app?
Search for “Limerick McCabes Pharmacy” in the Apple App Store or Google Play Store within Ireland and select Install / Get.
Q7: How do I register?
Registration may be completed as follows, subject to pilot availability:
· In-app: Tap Register and follow instructions
Q8: What information do I need to register?
To create an account, please provide:
· An email address and password
· A mobile phone number (verified via SMS one-time code)
· Basic profile details (name, date of birth; applicants must be 18+)
· Consent
Q9: How do email and phone verification work?
Your phone number will be verified via SMS with a one-time code during registration. You may also receive an email post-registration requesting verification of your email address.
Q10: I’m having trouble registering. What should I do?
Please follow these steps:
1. Ensure you have a stable internet connection
2. Verify your email address and phone number are correctly entered (including country code)
3. If the SMS code is not received, wait briefly and tap Resend
4. If your email or phone number is already registered, select Log in rather than Register
3. Logging In & Account Management
Q11: How do I log in?
Open the app and choose Log in. You can log in using either your email address or your mobile phone number.
Depending on the option shown, you can authenticate with your password or request a one‑time code.
Q12: I forgot my password. How can I reset it?
At the login screen, select "Forgot password?" and follow the prompts to receive a password reset link or code.
Q13: I can’t access my account. What should I do?
If access issues persist:
1. Confirm your email/phone number and password are correct
2. Update the app to the latest version
3. Attempt login with a one-time code if available
4. For continued difficulties, contact support via the Contact Us form located in the Account section
Q14: How do I change my personal details?
Navigate to Account → Personal Information to amend your details. Note that certain fields, such as date of birth, may not be editable.
Q15: How do I view my points, coupons and offers?
Access these features as follows:
· PLUS Points history: Locate in the McCabes PLUS section (points icon at top right)
· PLUS Coupons: Accessible from Home or McCabes PLUS → PLUS Coupons
· PLUS Offers: Accessible from Home or McCabes PLUS → PLUS Offers
· My Card QR: Available from Home or McCabes PLUS (floating button)
Q16: How do I manage notifications (including push notifications)?
Manage marketing push notifications within the app under Account → Marketing Communications. Notifications may also be enabled or disabled through your device's system settings.
4. Earning Points
Q17: How do I earn PLUS points?
PLUS points are awarded for eligible in-store purchases when you scan your My Card QR at checkout. PLUS points are not eligible on baby food, select OTC products and prescriptions. PLUS points may be earned for specific actions during the pilot, including:
· 1 PLUS point for every €1 you spend on eligible in-store purchases
· 200 PLUS points when you sign up
· 200 PLUS points when you turn on push notifications
· 200 PLUS points on your birthday
Q18: Which purchases qualify for points?
Most in-store purchases are eligible, except those excluded from the loyalty programme (see below).
Q19: Are there any exclusions?
PLUS points are not eligible on baby food, select OTC products and prescriptions.
Q20: When will points show in my account?
Points may require several minutes to appear after purchase, pending processing. If points remain absent, please contact support via the Contact Us form in the Account section.
Q21: Do discounted products still earn points?
Discounted purchases generally earn points if eligible. Excluded items will not accrue points irrespective of discounts. PLUS points are not eligible on baby food, select OTC products and prescriptions.
5. Redeeming Points
Q22: How do I redeem my points?
Tap the points icon at top right corner of the McCabes PLUS section and Explore rewards to exchange points. Upon redemption, a coupon is generated for use in store, which is located in theYour PLUS coupons section. Activate and scan in-store to avail of the offer.
Q23: Can I redeem points for money-off vouchers?
Yes. Points may be redeemed for monetary coupons where available during the pilot phase.
Q24: Do PLUS points expire?
PLUS Point expire after 1 year.
Q25: I can’t redeem points. What can I do?
Redemption is not possible without sufficient points. If issues occur despite having adequate points, contact support via the Contact Us form in the Account section.
6. Offers, Rewards & Personalisation
Q26: What types of offers can I get?
Potential offers include:
· PLUS Offers (offers/product discounts) applied automatically upon scanning My Card QR
· Personalised PLUS Coupons (must be activated in-app before purchase)
· Occasional themed or segmented campaigns as determined by pilot parameters
Q27: How do personalised offers and coupons work?
Certain PLUS coupons and offers are customised based on your profile or activity within the programme (for example, new member or birthday-related rewards).
Q28: How do I use an offer or coupon?
· PLUS Offers: Applied automatically upon scanning My Card QR
· PLUS Coupons: Activate within the app before shopping, then scan your My Card QR at checkout.
7. My Health / Services
Q29: How do prescription notifications work?
MY Health sends notifications when prescriptions are ready for collection. To utilize this feature, consent must be provided in-app and the phone number registered in the app must match the pharmacy record (PMR system).
Q30: Can I see full prescription details in MY Health?
MY Health displays summary information (such as status and pharmacy). For complete details, consult a pharmacy team member.
Q31: How do I opt out of prescription notifications?
Push notifications can be managed in Account → Marketing Communications, and device settings. Consent for MY Health services can be adjusted within the app’s legal/consent area where available.
Q32: What is DigiScript (manual prescription request)?
Our DigiScript service is the new, quick and convenient way to order prescriptions online using your chosen McCabes pharmacy, through our website or app from the comfort of your home. You can track your prescription status in-app, whether ordered through DigiScript or in pharmacy.
Q33: How do I book health service appointments?
Within MY Health, select Book an Appointment to access the appointment booking.
Q34: Why is my phone number important for MY Health?
Your phone number ensures accurate matching between your app account and pharmacy record for secure delivery of prescription notifications.
