The dressing provides cooling for pain relief and shock reduction, while also being clear, making it easy to assess the wound. The gel in the Burnshield Dressing is non-stick and will not adhere to wound. It is a natural anti-bacterial and it reduces infection. It is non-toxic, non-irritant and is also safe to use on children. It has fibreless elastic open-cell foam sheeting for wound covering and gel retention. A burn takes a second to occur and a lifetime to heal if treated incorrectly. The first 24 hours are the most crucial as a burn progresses and deepens over time. Applying Burnshield in the first 24 hours minimises damage. Burnshield is suitable for all types of burns including fire, thermal & scalding, chemical, radiation and electrical burns.
