Vermox oral suspension is used for the treatment of threadworm and other common worm infections.

What the medicine is for?

Vermox Suspension is a medicine, which is used to treat threadworms (sometimes known as pinworms) and other common worm infections e.g. (whipworm, roundworm, hookworm). The medicine contains mebendazole, which is one of a group of medicines called ‘anthelmintics’. This medicine is for use in adults and children aged over 2 years.

What’s in this medicine?

  • The active ingredient in Vermox Suspension is: Mebendazole.
  • Other ingredients are: Sucrose, Microcrystalline cellulose and carmellose sodium, Methylcellulose, methyl parahydroxybenzoate (E218), propyl parahydroxybenzoate (E216), Sodium lauryl sulphate, banana flavour, citric acid monohydrate and purified water.

Dosage: For oral administration, use as directed by the doctor.

For Thread worm infection (Enterobiasis)

Adults and children aged 2 years and over.

Take one 5ml dose. After two to four weeks take another 5ml dose.

For Common worm infections (Ascariasis, trichuriasis, ankylostomiasis and mixed infections)

Adults and children aged 2 years and over.

Take two 5ml doses (10ml) twice daily (morning and evening) for three consecutive days.

Children 2 years and over.

Take one 5ml dose twice daily (i.e. morning and evening) for three consecutive days. Your doctor will advise the appropriate dose depending on the type of worm infection.


How to take 

  • Check the table below to see how much medicine to take.
  •  Always shake the bottle thoroughly before use.
  •  The suspension should be taken using the 5 ml measuring cup in the pack.
  • For oral use only.
  •  Do not use more than the stated dose shown in the table.

Storing this medicine

  • Keep the product out of the reach and sight of children.
  • Do not store above 25°C.
  • Keep the bottle in the outer carton to protect from light.
  •  Do not use your medicine after the expiry date which is stated on the carton and bottle label after ‘Expiry’.
