Fertility

Trying to conceive can be stressful when it doesn’t happen quickly, the chance of pregnancy in any month of unprotected intercourse is about 20%! And yet, here we all are, which is reason for optimism!
There are several ways to increase your fertility. Here are some suggestions to maximize your chances of conceiving:
1. Review your lifestyle
Make sure you eat and drink healthily and exercise regularly. There are supplements you can take to ensure you are getting all the necessary vitamins and minerals to increase your fertility.
For women: Folic acid is an essential vitamin all women who may become pregnant should take.
2.Know the best time to conceive
Knowing when you ovulate is important so you know your best time to conceive. Ovulation tests will help you understand your most fertile time of the month, removing the guesswork. There are three main types of ovulation tests.
- Saliva tests which are reuseable.
- Non-reuseable urine tests
- Clearblue fertility monitor
3. Maximise sperm development
Sperm development is a complicated process that takes about 86 days. Any illness or prolonged raised testicular temperature during parts of this cycle could affect sperm formation.

4. Check your fertility at home
A woman’s fertility starts to decline after she gets to 30 and the decline gradually accelerates until she gets to menopause. This reduction in fertility is reflected in a similar gradual increase in the hormone FSH (follicle stimulating hormone). Rising levels of FSH tend to be associated with reduced fertility. The FSH hormone can also be raised in women with irregular periods and without doubt will steadily rise as a woman gets older. As menopause approaches the levels get particularly high and act as an early warning system for peri-menopause. Home fertility test will help you determine your fertility.
Sperm count is widely recognised as the major indicator of the fertility in men. Home fertility test will help you determine your fertility.
5. Vaginal Dryness
If you need to use a product for vaginal dryness we recommend Pre’® ”fertility-friendly” Intimate Moisturiser that mimics natural body secretions to relieve vaginal dryness while providing an optimal sperm environment.
For some couples, conceiving a child is relatively simple. Others may need a few extra steps to reach their final goal. If you haven’t conceived after 12 months of trying, (or six months if you’re 35 years or more) we recommend you consider seeking medical advice. Your doctor will advise whether you need further help.
